CLASSIC & ACADEMIC CAMPS

WILL I RECEIVE INSTRUCTION AT THE CAMP?

Yes, while this is mostly a time to show coaches what you can do, additional college coaches will provide instruction during each segment.

WILL I HAVE WARM-UP TIME BEFORE AND DURING THE CAMP?

You will know exactly what time your session will begin and you are expected to warm up on your own before this time. You will be informed of session rotations and you will be directed to an appropriate area for warm ups.

WILL THE COACHES WALK AROUND AND WATCH DIFFERENT SKILLS OR SIT IN ONE SPOT?

While we cannot control how coaches choose to evaluate the athletes, many coaches choose the area they need to recruit the most and watch each athlete come through that station. Ultimately, it is up to the college coaches to decide what format works best for them to evaluate.

DO PITCHERS NEED TO FURNISH THEIR OWN CAMP CATCHERS?

Yes! Due to limited camp time and space, pitchers will be required to provide their own catchers. The catcher can be a parent, sibling, friend, teammate or coach. It is the responsibility of the pitcher and is not an NFCA camp staff responsibility. ALL catchers MUST wear a face mask.

I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY CAMP. WHO SHOULD I CONTACT?

You may contact Jamie Hazel-White at the NFCA: Jamie@nfca.org or 502-409-4600.

IF I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO ATTEND HOW DO I CANCEL?

Please send an email to Events@nfca.org to specify your wish to cancel. Please review the NFCA Camp Refund Policy, located on each individual camp page, to see if a refund will be granted.

WHAT IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY OF THE CAMP?

Every effort will be made to hold the camp [ there are currently NO indoor facilities available for our camps]. If all three sessions are rained out, the athlete will be refunded 1/2 of her fee by August 1. This amount will be prorated when completing one or more rotations. Camp fees may not be transferred to the following year.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CLASSIC AND ACADEMIC CAMPS?

The academic recommendations that a prospective player is suggested to meet in order to be accepted into the Academic camps. For additional information about those recommendations, please see the individual camp pages. Northeast Academic | Pennsbury Classic

HOW WILL COACHES KNOW MY GAME ABILITY IF THEY ONLY SEE ME AT SKILL WORK?

College coaches are looking for potential and targeting athletes they may want to watch more closely at a later date. They are looking for very specific things. If you are looking to be seen in an in-game camp environment please check out our EXCEL Camps.

WHY DO WE ONLY RECEIVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF REPS DURING THE CAMP SESSION? CAN COACHES REALLY EVALUATE MY ABILITY WITH ONLY A FEW OPPORTUNITIES?

Coaches enter the camp with very specific recruiting agendas. They know exactly what they are looking for. Yes, it only takes a few swings and a few pitches for coaches to know if you are the kind of player they need to watch further. Remember: this is a time for coaches to target athletes they will want to watch play during the tournament. Make each rep count!

WILL ALL THE COACHES WHO ARE LISTED ON THE NFCA SITE ACTUALLY ATTEND THE CAMP?

The NFCA cannot control whether or not the coaches attend, but the coaches listed have indicated their commitment to attend.

I SIGNED UP FOR THE WRONG CAMP. CAN I SWITCH?

Yes, just email Events@nfca.org. Tell us your name, which camp you signed up for and which camp you would like to transfer to. Please make this request in a timely fashion and at least 14 days prior to the camp date. Please do NOT submit duplicate registrations. Transfers only apply to camps within the same camp season and cannot be transferred from one year to another.

AM I REQUIRED TO WEAR MY TRAVEL BALL UNIFORM TO THE CAMP?

No, the NFCA will provide color-coded t-shirts and numbers to be worn on camp days. The color will signify your graduation year.

WHAT IS A SESSION?

Each camp is divided into three sessions based on position:
Session I: Outfielders/Catchers
Session II: Pitchers
Session III: Infielders
Athletes are required to make a session selection, which should be their primary playing position.
