Alabama senior shortstop Dominique Accetturo has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Softball Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 20-26, the association announced Wednesday.

Accetturo hit .533 (8-for-15) on the week as she helped lead the Crimson Tide to a 4-0 mark that included a sweep of previous No. 2 Tennessee. She collected five of her eight hits on the week in the three-game sweep of UT that extended UA’s home win streak to 13 games.

The Pembroke Pines, Fla., native drove in six runs on the week, including five against the Lady Vols. She was involved in the game-winning run in all three games against UT. Accetturo drove in the game-winning run in the opening game of the three-game set, and she followed that in game two with a two-out, run-scoring single that cut the Lady Vols’ lead to 4-3. She touched home with the winning run on the next batter. Accetturo helped complete the sweep as she scored the tying run in the third game.

The senior had three multi-hit games over the span, and she was perfect in the field with six putouts and seven assists. She slugged at a .667 percentage, while she reached base at a .563 clip.

On the season she is hitting .309 (25-for-81) with 17 RBIs, 16 runs scored, eight doubles, a triple, a home run, and 7-of-8 stolen bases.

The award is the second for a Crimson Tide player in three weeks as Stephanie VanBrakle earned the honor Mar. 15.
