STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Angelo State Rambelles garnered all but one first-place vote to remain the No. 1 team in the nation for the third straight week, according to the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 poll released by the Association on Wednesday.
Angelo State (20-1) picked up 15 of the 16 first place votes on the week and finished 30 points ahead of No. 2 Valdosta St. (10-2). Meanwhile, Valdosta went 3-1 last week at North Georgia’s Captain D’s Classic, to move up to second and pick up the remaining first-place vote.
Alabama-Huntsville (14-1-1) moved one spot this week to third and will meet Valdosta in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday. North Georgia (22-6) dropped two spots from second to fourth, while Midwestern State (24-24) jumped five spots from ninth to fifth to round out the top five.
No. 16 Lock Haven (11-3), No. 21 Flagler (24-6) and No. 25 Saginaw Valley (9-6) all made their exits from the rankings this week and were replaced by West Virginia Wesleyan (17-3), Armstrong Atlantic (18-4) and Indiana (PA) at 15th, 24th and 25th, respectively.
