STARKVILLE, Miss. – Head Coach Bo Scannapieco and assistant coaches Jessica Williams and Megan Hennessy of Brookdale Community College have been named as the 2010 National Fastpitch Coaches Association NJCAA Division III National Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Jersey Blues won the 2010 NJCAA National Championship and finished the season with a 45-10 record. After winning its 15th Region XIX Championship, Brookdale advanced to the NJCAA Tournament where it won the program’s third national title in less than 10 years with a perfect 4-0 record.

Brookdale clinched the national championship by beating No. 1 Monroe (NY), 6-3, on May 23 in Rochester, Minn. The Jersey Blues got a big lift in the four-game stretch from tournament MVP Kerilyn Svenson.

Svenson picked up all four wins in the circle for her team during the national tournament, including a complete game win during the national title game where she limited a powerful Monroe offense to just eight hits and one walk.

Scannapieco was also named as the NJCAA Division III National Coach of the Year following his team’s win at the tournament.
