Henderson State second baseman Lindsey Causey has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week of April 12-18.

Causey went 9-for-10 (.900) at the plate for the Lady Reddies, who improved to 30-11 on the season with a three-game sweep of Christian Brothers.

She was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and a home run in HSU's first win in Memphis. She was responsible for four of the eight runs scored by her team. In the second game, Causey was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a crucial RBI in a 4-2 victory.

Causey completed the series with another 3-for-3 performance, scoring two runs in the Reddies' 5-0 win.

She added two walks to bring her on-base percentage for the week to a remarkable .917. With four extra-base hits, Causey slugged 1.500 in the series.

On the season, the freshman from Irving, Texas, leads the team with a .380 batting average, and is tied for first in the Gulf South Conference with 11 home runs.

In its first five seasons, HSU had never recorded more than 17 wins in a season. The sweep of the Buccaneers extended the Reddies' winning streak to 17. HSU has now won 13 conference games, more than the last five years combined.
