Columbus State senior pitcher Amber Browning had been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 19-25. 

Browning, the winner of the 2007 inaugural award, posted a perfect 2-0 mark on the week. Both wins came via shutout, and she allowed two hits and a walk with 20 strikeouts. 

She threw a perfect game against Peach Belt Conference foe USC Aiken, striking out six in the 9-0 victory. 

She began the week leading the Cougars to an upset over sixth-ranked Georgia College and State University. In the 3-0 win, she struck out 14 GCSU hitters while carrying a perfect game into the sixth inning. 

On the year, Browning has registered a perfect 6-0 mark with a 0.70 ERA and two no-hitters. She has struck out 57, while walking just four and holding opponents to a .084 batting average.
