Cortland State pitcher Katie Finch has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Player of the Week for the week ending March 15, the association announced Wednesday. 

The Amsterdam, N.Y., native went 5-0 with one save in six appearances last week at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. Finch threw two no-hitters and a one-hitter, and at one point pitched 21.1 consecutive hitless innings. 

She tossed a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks versus Emerson College, a six-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and two walks against Manhattanville College and a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks in a 3-1 win over Rhode Island College, a Division III national championship participant each of the past two seasons. 

The junior has not allowed an earned run in 38.1 innings this spring. She has permitted only 10 hits and has recorded 71 strikeouts versus only eight walks. Finch is now ranked second at Cortland with 507 career strikeouts. 

Cortland is 9-1 and currently ranked ninth in the NFCA Division III Top 25 PollNFCA Division III Top 25 Poll.
