COLUMBUS, Ga. – After the dust settled on the first day of the 2010 NFCA Division Leadoff Classic, six teams remained with unblemished tournament records.

No. 6 Missouri led the group of unbeaten teams that also included Alabama, Arkansas, Hofstra, Illinois and Illinois St.

While the first day of action produced plenty of winners, it also had its fair share of drama as 10 games were decided by just one run and four were forced into extra innings.

Illinois St. junior Abby Olson helped propel her team a 2-0 record by going 4-for-5 at the plate on the day with one double and two home runs. Olson was the only player on the first day of the tournament to go yard twice.

In the circle, senior Kylie Reynolds of Kent St. threw the day’s lone no-hitter when she tossed eight innings in the Golden Flashes’ 1-0 win over Auburn. Reynolds gave up just five walks, while striking out 12 batters in her first of two wins on the day.

Action continues tomorrow at the South Commons Complex in Columbus with 24 more, games including a battle of two top 10 teams when Michigan takes on Alabama at 1:30 p.m.
