Moravian junior pitcher Meagan Hennessy has been named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week for the week of Apr. 4-10, the association announced Wednesday. 

Hennessy recorded a perfect 5-0 mark for the week, including a 4-0 mark in Commonwealth Conference action. Three of her victories were shutouts, and one came via her third career no-hitter. 

In a 5-2 doubleheader-opening win over Albright College, the Freehold, N.J., native struck out eight batter. In the second game she threw her fourth career shutout, striking out seven in the victory. 

She keyed the Greyhounds’ win over Franklin & Marshall College, allowing a run on four hits while registering 10 strikeouts. She followed that outing with 12 scoreless innings against Messiah College in which she gave up three hits and struck out 10 in the doubleheader. 

For the week Hennessy allowed 14 hits and seven walks with 35 strikeouts in 33 innings of work. Over the season she has compiled a 15-2 mark with two saves, winning her last 11 decisions. 

She has paced Moravian to a 20-3 mark and a No. 9 national ranking with nine shutouts, three no-hitters, four one-hitters. In 125 innings of work, she has given up 51 hits and 16 runs, nine earned, while striking out 147 batters.
