Wayne State senior pitcher Molly Yetman (Cambridge, Ont.) has been named the NFCA Division II Player of the Week for the week ending March 9, it was announced on Tuesday.

Yetman pitched two complete-game shutouts last week, including her second no-hitter of the season. In a 4-0 win over Shippensburg, Yetman struck out 14 and allowed just three walks with no hits for the seven-inning victory. It was the fourth no-hitter of Yetman’s career.

She followed that with another shutout performance the next day against Southern Indiana, pitching the Warriors to a 1-0 victory over Southern Indiana. In that game, Yetman allowed two hits while walking three and striking out 10. USI had defeated Wayne State twice previously this year, including the previous weekend at the SIUE Cougar Classic.

Wayne State continues play at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla., this week.
