STARKVILLE, Miss. – After winning the North Carolina Class 4A State Championship and ending the season as the No. 1 team in the country, according to the final USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll, the North Davidson Black Knights led all schools by placing six players on one of five 2010 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region teams that were announced by the Association on Wednesday.
In all, 162 student-athletes representing 107 member-high schools from 30 states earned the honor of being called a member of two teams in each of the five 2010 Louisville Slugger NFCA/All-Region teams.
While North Davidson led the nation with six selections from the South Region, Texas Class 5A State Champion Pearland followed closely behind with five selections of their own from the South Central Region.
Two other teams also placed several players on their region team, Canyon del Oro (Ariz.) and Washburn Rural (Kan.) each had four honorees from the West and South Central Regions, respectively.
After meeting for the Florida Class 4A title, state champions Dunnellon and runners-up Naples each placed two players on the South Region team.

All first-team honorees from each of the five regions are now eligible to be named to one of three 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American teams. The 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American teams will be announced by 5 p.m. Friday on the NFCA website.
