View the 2006 NFCA Top Ten All-Academic Teams 

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced today the Top Ten All-Academic Teams, based on cumulative grade-point averages submitted by NFCA member head coaches for the 2005-2006 academic year. 

The University of Rio Grande led NAIA and all college divisions with a 3.750 GPA. Macalester College garnered the highest Division III GPA with a 3.660 mark, while St. Bonaventure University (3.590) and Grand Canyon University (3.604) led Divisions I and II, respectively. 

Iowa Western Community College topped the junior college ranks with a 3.459, while Belleville West High School (Ill.) compiled a 4.059 team GPA to lead the high school weighted division for the second straight year. Hopkins High School (Minn.)’s 3.765 average edged out last year’s top high school non-weighted team, St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.).
