NFCA/MaxPreps HS POTWSTARKVILLE, Miss. –Juniors Lindsey Fadnek of Coalfield High School in Coalfield, Tenn., Morgan Maize of Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Ill., Courtney O'Connor of Appoquinimink High School in West Middletown, Del., and sophomores MacKenzie Robinson of Elysian Fields High School in Elysian Fields, Texas, and Kirsten Hostetler of Sunrise Mountain High School in Peoria, Ariz. have all been named as the High School Players of the Week for their respective regions by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for games played through April 4, 2011.

From the South Central Region, Fadnek had quite a week in the circle, tossing two complete game shutouts including a perfect game against Jellico. On the week the junior struck out 25 of the 38 batters she faced. So far this season she is a perfect 6-0 and currently owns an ERA of 0.00, holding opposing batters to a .060 batting average while yielding only one BB in 42 innings pitched.

Representing the North Region Maize went 3-0 on the mound last week. The junior struck out 30 and yielded no earned runs in 19 innings pitched. Maize also helped her cause at the plate, hitting .375 with two doubles, a triple, two home runs and ten RBI. With that she improved her record to 4-0 on the season, helping the Eagles to improve to 5-0.

From the East Region, O'Connor went 5 for 6 at the plate with 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. In a win over McKean she hit a double and her second home run of the year. On the season the junior is hitting .500 with 15 RBI and a 1.071 slugging percentage, helping her team to a 4-1 start.

South Region honoree, Robinson, finished the first round of district play undefeated in the circle. This past week, she pitched two complete game shutouts while allowing only 4 hits. The wins improved her record to 23-3 for the season and 5-0 in district.  

In the West Region, Hostetler threw a perfect game against Bradshaw Mountain, then followed up that performance with 3 innings of perfect pitching against Alvin, Texas. On the season the sophomore is 5-1 helping the Mustangs to a 15-1 overall record. She owns a .33 ERA and has held opposing batters to a .158 batting average., the official high school statistical provider of the NFCA, provides all statistics for the NFCA High School Player of the Week award.

To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete's game stats into by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week’s award. The NFCA High School Players of the Week, one for each high school region, will be announced by the Association on every Monday during the spring season.
