STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the third consecutive week, Valdosta State is the No. 1 team in the nation, according to the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 poll released by the Association on Wednesday
The Blazers (37-2) received 15 of 16 first-place votes this week, with No. 2 Indianapolis (37-2) receiving the remaining vote. The rest of the top five was also unchanged in the latest poll with Winona State (32-3), Central Oklahoma (33-3) and Kutztown (36-1) checking in at third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
The only team to fall from the rankings this was Augusta State (28-12), which was ranked 19th in last week’s poll. Taking the Jaguars’ place in this week’s edition was UC San Diego (32-14), which returns to the poll at No. 23 after a one-week absence.
The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
