Wartburg College freshman Amy Daniels has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 27-Apr. 2, the association announced Wednesday.
Daniels, a third baseman, hit .632 (12-for-19) and slugged 1.432 in six games during the week. She had three doubles, four home runs, 14 RBIs and scored nine runs, leading No. 7-ranked Wartburg to a 6-0 week.
The Cedar Falls, Iowa, native had four multi-hit games including a 2-for-2 performance in game two of a doubleheader against Wisconsin-LaCrosse, a 3-for-3 performance in game two against Wisconsin-Platteville, and 2-for-4 and 3-for-4 performances against Coe.
Daniels also had four multi-RBI games, including three RBIs in game one against LaCrosse and Platteville, two RBIs in game two against Platteville and four in game two against Coe.
Daniels is currently in the middle of a seven-game hitting streak and is batting .394 on the season. She is second on the team with five home runs and 28 RBIs.
