LOUISVILLE, Ky. – North Georgia continued its winning ways, rattling off three more victories, and the top 12 teams remained the same in this week’s 2023 NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. The NightHawks (37-1) extended their win streak to a NCAA-best 36 contests in 2023 with three road wins at Peach Belt Conference foe Young Harris.
Eight of the top-12 teams posted perfect weeks, along with No. 7 Grand Valley State sitting idle after weather postponements altered its schedule. The 11 programs that completed last week combined for a 37-3 record with 30 of those wins coming on the road.
No. 2 Tampa, No. 3 UT Tyler, No. 4 Central Oklahoma and No. 8 Rogers State swept through league play on the road, while No. 10 Valdosta State picked up a three-game sweep at home. No. 6 Indianapolis posted seven wins, five of which came in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
No. 9 Concordia and No. 12 Colorado Christian each went 3-1, while Lubbock Christian posted a 2-1 Lone Star series win at Texas A&M International.
The ninth-ranked Golden Eagles won two contests at then-No. 19 Cal State San Marcos and split with then-No. 23 Cal State Dominguez Hills. The 12th-ranked Cougars had their 34-game win streak snapped in game one on the road at Regis, but rebounded with three victories to capture another Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series, improving to 27-1 in league play.
Amongst the final 13 teams, No. 13 Saint Leo, No. 14 West Texas A&M, No. 16 Wingate, No. 19 Mississippi College and No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist improved on their positions, while West Alabama (26-8) joined the rankings at No. 25.
