LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Augustana’s Torri Chute and Adelphi's Lindsey Hibbs were named Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the final time in 2023. The duo was recognized for their outstanding performances April 24-30.

Chute keyed the Vikings to their third straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season crown, going 8-for-10 performance in a sweep of Minnesota Duluth to leapfrog the Bulldogs for the top spot in the league. Over their final eight contests, Chute hit .556 with 15 hits, four home runs, 12 RBI, 11 runs and a 1.037 slugging percentage. In the regular-season series finale, she hit .800 with two homers, seven RBI and six runs scored. She currently leads the NSIC with a .453 batting average, is second with a .760 slugging percentage and 1.291 OPS, and tied for third with 17 doubles.

For the third time this season, Hibbs is being recognized as she broke Adelphi’s 38-year-old single-season strikeout record and the Northeast Conference’s mark as well. Fanning 52 batters over 27 innings, she brought her single-season total to 344. Almost half of her punchouts came against Saint Rose in which she took a perfect game into the seventh and finished with a one-hit shutout and 25 strikeouts in the nine-inning win. The junior hurler finished the week 4-0 with two shutouts, 0.00 ERA and 52 strikeouts. She walked just one, allowed nine hits and held the opposition to a .099 batting average.

The Division II weekly awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Committee.
